—Wianki on the Vistula — traditional St. John's Eve celebration with concerts, floral wreaths floated on the Vistula and fireworks. Poniatowska Beach. Free entry.
—Sunday Chopin concerts in Royal Łazienki — every Sunday at 12:00 and 16:00, by the Chopin Monument. Season runs through September. Free entry.
—Orange Warsaw Festival — major summer pop-music festival with international headliners. Służewiec Horse Racetrack.
—Warsaw Summer Jazz Days — annual international jazz festival with concerts across several venues.
—Sunday Chopin concerts — continuing through the summer in Royal Łazienki. Free entry.
—Open-air cinema — summer rooftop and riverside screenings (Multikino, Vistula riverbank).
—1 August — Anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising — at 17:00 sirens sound across the city for a minute of remembrance. Ceremonies at the Warsaw Uprising Museum and city monuments.
—15 August — Polish Armed Forces Day — military parade in central Warsaw. National holiday.
—Singer Warsaw Festival — annual celebration of Jewish culture, klezmer concerts and meetings on Próżna Street.
—Chopin concerts — final month of the outdoor concert season in Royal Łazienki.
—European Heritage Days — free entry to monuments, museums and normally inaccessible places. Second half of September.
—Warsaw International Film Festival — one of Poland's largest film festivals, FIAPF Category A.
—Sleepless Night Warsaw — night of culture with light installations, performances and open galleries.
—Warsaw Autumn (Warszawska Jesień) — International Festival of Contemporary Music, one of Europe's oldest (since 1956). National Philharmonic and other venues.
—All Saints' preparations — installations, memorial concerts and exhibitions before the November holidays.
—1 November — All Saints' Day — traditional visits to cemeteries (Powązki, Bródnowski). National holiday. Candles and lanterns light the city.
—11 November — Independence Day — ceremonies in the city centre, Independence March, patriotic concerts.
—Christmas Market opening — late November, Castle Square. Wooden stalls, mulled wine, regional food.
—Old Town Christmas Market — daily through December. Castle Square. Carousel, Christmas tree, concerts.
—Royal Garden of Lights — illuminated installations at Royal Łazienki Park. Evening visits with ticket.
—Wigilia (24 December) — Polish Christmas Eve tradition: twelve meat-free dishes, sharing of the opłatek wafer, family dinner.
—New Year's Eve open-air concert — city concert in central Warsaw with fireworks at midnight.
—WOŚP — Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity — second Sunday of January. Volunteers with collection boxes across the city, concerts, "Light to the Sky" at 20:00.
—6 January — Three Kings' Day (Epiphany) — Three Kings' Procession along Krakowskie Przedmieście and other streets. National holiday.
—Seasonal ice rinks — STEGNY (1 km from hotel, on foot), Castle Square, Multimedia Fountain Park.
—Tłusty Czwartek (Fat Thursday) — last Thursday of carnival, Polish doughnut day. Long queues at iconic pastry shops (Górczewska, Blikle, A.Blikle).
—Valentine's Day (14 February) — special concerts and dinners across the city. Live music at outdoor ice rinks.
—Carnival Ball at the Palace of Culture and Science — gala carnival event, a tradition dating from communist times.
—Drowning of Marzanna (21 March) — symbolic farewell to winter, mainly a school tradition. Processions along the Vistula.
—Reopening of Royal Łazienki Park — the first peacocks return from winter shelters. The park comes back to life.
—Easter — Polish traditions: Easter breakfast, blessing of food, painted eggs. Easter markets on the Old Town (palms, eggs, marzipan lambs).
—Spring exhibitions open — National Museum, Royal Castle and other institutions launch new seasonal shows.
—3 May — Constitution Day — ceremonies at Castle Square, parade, concerts. National holiday.
—Museum Night — third Saturday of May. Most museums open late, free entry, special events. Public transport free all night.
—26 May — Polish Mother's Day — Polish national tradition, flowers and family gatherings. Restaurants serve special menus.
—Chopin concerts return to Royal Łazienki — from mid-May, every Sunday. Full season runs through September.
—Wianki on the Vistula — late June again. Opening of the summer festival season.
—Orange Warsaw Festival — next edition of the pop-music festival.
